September is here, which means it’s time to put away the sandals, sundresses, and white pants — but even though the air has a chill to it and the mornings are darker you can still be active and take part in our gorgeous surroundings! Springhouse Village is home to a variety of amenities that can be enjoyed year-round.
Oquirrh Lake and Trails
This beautiful lake lies in the heart of our community and is connected to more than 30 miles of trails perfect for hiking and biking. Though the weather is cooling down, you can still enjoy a number of lakeside activities. Throw on extra layers and go on a picturesque hike, rent a kayak to paddle peacefully during the warmer hours of the day, or bliss out in the late morning by practicing tai chi in the beach area.
Pickleball
Looking for a new outdoor workout? Try pickleball, a sport with many health benefits that has been described as a cross between tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. Exercise is an excellent way to stay warm during cooler weather, and you can set up your game on our current tennis courts or any pavilion as long as you have a raised net in the middle. Paddles and wiffleballs can be purchased online and anyone can learn to play the game simply by watching this video.
Community Gardens
Gardening is great exercise: It keeps your body moving, plus you’ll reap the benefits of growing your own nutritious food. Our community gardens are popular places for spending quality time with family and neighbors, and this time of year is ideal for growing root vegetables for savory stir-fry dishes and fresh greens for delicious salads.
One of the best parts of living at Springhouse Village is the variety of indoor and outdoor activities always at your disposal. We want you to get as much as you can out of our community, so take advantage of as many opportunities and diversions as you please!
